The IB baccalaureate is an internationally recognized diploma in English, valid for university admission in more than 80 countries around the world. It was developed in the mid-sixties in Geneva by an international group of educators and is now widespread in more than 4,600 schools worldwide and involves about 1.5 million students. The initial impulse was to create an international school in the deepest sense of the term. The need was to accommodate those children who, due to the work needs of their parents, were forced to travel and change countries very often, in a well-known and comfortable school situation.
